According to Sky Germany, Dani Olmo is hopeful to leave RB Leipzig this summer.
As previously reported, a number of top European clubs are looking to sign the Spaniard after an impressive Euro 2024 campaign. On the list of sides considering securing Olmo’s services is Bayern Munich.
However, as it stands, Der Rekordmeister view Olmo as their Plan B, should they fail to sign both Xavi Simons and Désiré Doué. Nevertheless, the Euro 2024 winner has now made it clear that he is looking to leave Leipzig this summer, whether it be moving to Bayern or elsewhere.
Speaking to the Spanish newspaper Marca, Olmo commented on the interest from Barcelona: “My advisors, who are dealing with this, already know what I want to do. I don’t know if I will stay in Germany; we will see. I want to be in a place where I am appreciated and loved, and what I want to do is win. There are several options; we will see what happens.”
Olmo had previously played in the Barcelona academy from 2007–2014 before departing Catalonia for Dinamo Zagreb. With the Spanish side trying whatever they can to sign Olmo and Nico Williams this summer, Bayern will certainly have competition for the 26-year-old’s signature.
Regardless, PSG’s late bid to sign Doué could leave the record champions being forced to act quickly in order to get a deal for Olmo over the line. With his €60 million release valid until July 20, Bayern may look to trigger that deal in the coming days, should Doué decide on a move to the French capital.
