According to Sky Germany, Bayern Munich are considering the possible signing of RB Leipzig’s Dani Olmo.
As recently reported, Der Rekordmeister are looking to secure the signings of Xavi Simons from PSG as well as Désiré Doué from Stade Rennes. However, both of these transfers are still far from completion, leaving the record champions to find a possible Plan B.
It is understood that should either of the deals for Simons or Doué fall through, then Bayern will look to acquire the services of Olmo. The Spaniard is being heavily spoken about internally, but as of yet, there are no clear plans to lure the 26-year-old to Bavaria.
Nevertheless, Bayern’s sporting director Max Eberl is in regular contact with Olmo as well as his management. Therefore, should Der Rekordmeister turn their attention to the Euro 2024 champion, then they will be able to act quickly.
However, as previously reported, Bayern will face competition from a number of Europe’s elite. Barcelona and Manchester City are two of the clubs closely monitoring the Spaniard’s situation at Leipzig, but neither are as convinced of Olmo’s talents as the record champions.
Despite having a €60 million release clause in place until July 20, it is unlikely that Bayern will look to take advantage of the contractual agreement. This is because Leipzig will still be willing to listen to offers for the 26-year-old, but they will not entertain bids below his market value.
