David Beckham surprised Arsenal team with 'perfect' training exercise

Phillipe Senderos has recalled when David Beckham showed off his outstanding passing skills during an Arsenal training session.

Senderos played with the English legend at AC Milan in 2009, but the duo trained together for the gunmen before his transfer to Italy.

After the conclusion of the 2007 MLS season at the LA Galaxy, beckham He spent three weeks at Arsenal in January 2008 before returning to the United States for pre-season.

He joined during Senderos' fifth year in north London, and arrived with a reputation as one of the best passers in world football.

And it's a skill he demonstrated to the former Swiss defender, who told talkSPORT about one drill in particular that amazed him.

Appearing on Drive, Senderos was asked to name the best player in training among four of his former teammates: Thierry Henry, Ronaldinho, Beckham and Kaká.

“Obviously they were all world-class and top-notch,” Senderos said. “But the best player in training, everyone had great quality and everything, David Beckham for me was incredible in training.

“His application, what he would do every day to prepare and be one of the best players of the weekend, David Beckham.”

Senderos added: “I remember he once came to Arsenal to do a pre-season, we were doing long balls with (Gael) Clichy.

“There was a triangle, Clichy, David Beckham and I, we were practicing long passes, with the right foot, with the left foot, 30/40 yard balls for half an hour.

“He didn't miss a single ball, every single one of them came right at your foot, three feet off the ground, like really perfect balls. When the first one missed, we both stopped and said, 'Okay, that's it!' “

Following his training spell at Arsenal, Beckham returned to the LA Galaxy and then sealed a loan move to Milan, joining in January 2009.

Senderos signed for the Italian giants the previous summer and the duo played nine games together, winning five of them.

Beckham completed his return to the LA Galaxy before returning to Milan again in early 2010, but by that time, Senderos had returned to Arsenal and joined Everton on loan.

The former played football for three more years and retired at Paris Saint-Germain, while the latter hung up his boots in 2019 after a spell at Swiss side Chiasso.

They were both very different players, but if Senderos ever doubted Beckham's passing ability, then his experience at Arsenal would certainly have changed his mind.
