DFB Pokal round of 16 full draw – Bayern Munich and Bayer Leverkusen to face off in Munich

0

The draw for the DFB Pokal round of 16 was made this evening after the completion of the round of 32 in midweek. The most notably absentee from the draw was Borussia Dortmund who were knocked out by Wolfsburg.

The biggest game of the round is by far Bayern Munich against Bayer Leverkusen. No words need to explain the size of the game and it will mean another favourite will not be in the quarter-finals in the new year. RB Leipzig also hosts Eintracht Frankfurt which pits the second and fourth-best teams in Germany against one another.

The lowest-ranked team left in the competition, Arminia Bielefeld, who knocked out Union Berlin, face another Bundesliga team in SC Freiburg.

The only true derby that was possible in the competition was Karlsruher SC vs VfB Stuttgart but KSC drew Augsburg while Stuttgart will travel to Jahn Regensburg.

Köln vs Hertha Berlin sees two former Bundesliga teams play one another, while Werder Bremen host Darmstadt and Wolfsburg play Hoffenheim.

The games will be played on December 3rd-4th.
