Jhon Durán has scooped Aston Villa’s Player of the Month award for September.
The striker earned 48% of the vote among Villa supporters following an impressive month in which he found the net on three occasions.
Durán started September with a stunning contribution as he stepped off the bench to score a spectacular long-range strike which secured a 3-2 victory over Everton at Villa Park – with the stunner nominated for Premier League Goal of the Month.
The Colombia international was a second-half substitute in our 3-0 UEFA Champions League triumph over BSC Young Boys, before Durán goal back on the goal trail by netting the third in our 3-1 success over Wolverhampton Wanderers.
His goalscoring form continued just days later as the 20-year-old bagged the winner from the penalty spot in our 2-1 victory at Wycombe Wanderers in the Carabao Cup – his fifth goal of the season.
Durán, who signed a new long-term contract with the club earlier this week, rounded off the month as a second-half substitute in our 2-2 Premier League draw at Ipswich Town.
Villa’s top three players in our September poll were:
Jhon Durán 48%
Youri Tielemans 15%
Emi Martínez 14%
Thank you to everyone who voted and congratulations, Jhon!
