The Bundesliga after announced that Eintracht Frankfurt striker Omar Marmoush has won the Player of the Month award for September.
In the month of September, Marmoush finished with five goals and two assists but continued his form into the month of October as he also scored twice and assisted once against Bayern Munich. The Egyptian’s performances mean he beat the likes of Harry Kane, Florian Wirtz, Michael Olise, Maximilian Mittelstädt and Vincenzo Grifo to the award.
The way the award is voted for is a two-stage process based on the player’s individual performances during the month, as well as on a vote by fans and experts.
Frankfurt is currently third in the Bundesliga and faces Bayer Leverkusen on the weekend. Comparing their performances from last season, Frankfurt have seen a big uptick which Marmoush, along with strike partner Hugo Ekitiké have been at the heart of.
The Egyptian has recently expressed his desire to win the Bundesliga with Frankfurt, but whether they are able to maintain this early season form is yet to be seen.
