Enes Unal came off the bench to score his first Premier League goal in stoppage time as Bournemouth came back from two goals down to salvage a draw at home to a team plagued by relegation. Sheffield United.
Goals from Gustavo Hamer and captain Jack Robinson looked to have given the Blades their second away win of the season. However, goals from substitutes Dango Ouattara and Unal in the final 16 minutes gave the hosts a point in a vibrant match.
Chris Wilder, whose team was beaten 6-0 at home by Arsenal Last time, he was happy to see his team recover and pick up a rare point. “We turned it around on Monday, so any kind of result today after what happened would have been a good result,” the Blades coach said.
“We are off the bottom and at the end it was like a war zone, with bodies everywhere. Everyone had cramps.
“Everyone's narrative is that we're done and I don't think that was the case today. We just have to fight and fight for it and who knows what will happen between now and the end of the season?
The home team were awarded a penalty in the 14th minute after Tom Davies clumsily brought down Dominic Solanke.
Solanke took a step forward in search of his 15th first division goal of the season, but lost his balance when he was about to tackle the ball and threw it over the crossbar with his left foot.
Bournemouth were frustrated by an excellent 25th-minute save from Ivo Grbic, who deflected Antoine Semenyo's low shot from the edge of the area. The visitors took the lead two minutes later, thanks to Hamer's fourth goal of the campaign.
Croatian Grbic made another magnificent save to push back a powerful header from Semenyo after a Ryan Christie cross for a corner. In first-half stoppage time, Neto clumsily saved a header from Tom Davies, before McBurnie headed straight at the home goalkeeper from a corner.
Bournemouth started the second half up and Christie should have done better five minutes after the restart than to shoot after some good footwork from Marcus Tavernier had created the chance.
Neto had to be alert to deflect a cross shot from Oliver Arblaster, but it was the goalkeeper's mistake on the resulting corner that helped the visitors double their lead in the 64th minute. Neto slammed the corner into Solanke's back, sending the ball into the path of Robinson at the far post and the Blades captain fired home, with the goal decision system showing he had crossed the line before the Bournemouth goalkeeper deflected it away.
Moments later, Bournemouth believed they were back in the game, but Solanke's unfortunate close-range shot was ruled out by a handball from the England international after a lengthy VAR review.
They pulled one goal back with 16 minutes remaining when Ouattara was left unmarked to head in a Christie corner. Unal then scored in the first minute of added time to break the Blades' hearts.
Bournemouth manager Andoni Iraola said: “I don't think it was a good result for us. We wanted the three points. “We finished the game much stronger than them and created some chances, but we couldn't score the third goal.”
