Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca says goalkeeper Robert Sánchez is the only player guaranteed to start against Tottenham.
The Blues dominated Southampton on Wednesday night with a convincing 5-1 victory.
chelsea goalkeeper Filip Jorgensen He made his Premier League debut against Southampton with an impressive performance, although he was unable to keep a clean sheet.
After the match, Maresca was asked about the Blues' starting lineup to face Tottenham in their next match on Sunday.
Marseca revealed: “That day we are going to play Roberto Sanchez and 10 players. “The only one who is sure is Sánchez.”
Sánchez has made big mistakes so far this season, and the situation with Chelsea's goalkeepers is a hot topic.
It's unclear if Marseca has more faith in Sánchez than Jorgensen for such an important game against Spurs, or it's simply due to the team's rotation.
During last week's episode of Inside ChelseaThe issue of Sánchez was put into discussion.
Chelsea Fan and content creator Matisse Armani said: “This is the only position (goalkeeper) where I really feel Chelsea have had great quality over the years and if they want to get to the next level it needs to be rectified.
“Can you do that in January? “Probably not.”
Former Blues defender Jason Cundy He added: “I think the deal is done, but I understand that most fans look at the goalkeeping situation and think: 'Is he okay now?'
“But I think what we have is probably what we're going to get, but we'll probably see the team trimmed.”
Despite the victory against Southampton, Maresca had one thing that did not make him happy.
“I'm very happy with the five goals we scored,” Maresca said.
“I'm not happy with the first 15 to 20 minutes where we had problems. We had problems because we set up the game to play man to man (without possession), and we didn't press man to man in the first 15 to 20 minutes.
“If you don't fight man to man against this team, you have a hard time getting the ball back. After that, we adjusted that and the game was much better. It changed completely.
“It was a good game by all of them. Sometimes you have to adapt when you play with 10 players, you can slow down the game and keep the ball, but we created a lot of chances. “We could have scored more, but five goals are enough.”
Chelsea are second in the Premier League standings and are on a four-game winning streak heading into their clash with London rivals Spurs.
Tottenham have taken six points from three games against their fellow 'Big Six' players so far this season, and also beat Man City in the EFL Cup.
Spurs, however, have nine players sidelined through injury and sit eighth in the table after an inconsistent run.
