Bayern Munich last week confirmed the extension of Eric Dier’s stay at the Allianz Arena, and the Englishman leads the way in an impressive stat.
Of the outfield players that have more than 500 minutes in the Bundesliga, Dier is the only player to have not been dribbled past by an opponent, according to Opta.
Dier joined in January on a six-month loan, but Dier has now signed a contract with the Bundesliga side until June 2025. Within the original loan agreement, there were certain obligations to be met that would trigger the permanent move, these have now been met. This brings to an end a 10-year association with Tottenham Hotspur which saw him reach a Champions League final with the club in 2019.
Of his seven Bundesliga games for Bayern Munich, Dier has started five of them. The Englishman has also completed the full 90 minutes in five of Bayern Munich’s last six league games.
