RMC Sport via kicker, reports that Everton have held talks with Eric Junior Ebimbe who has been linked with a move away from Eintracht Frankfurt.
Ebimbe’s contract at Deutsche Bank Park does not expire until 2027 but initial talks between the Premier League side and Frankfurt over the versatile player have already been held.
Sky Germany reported last month that after the arrival of Rasmus Kristensen from Leeds United on loan, that Frankfurt were open to selling one of their right-backs this summer. It was originally thought that it would be Aurélio Buta who would leave the club but Die Adler were always open to selling Ebimbe if a good enough offer comes in for the 23-year-old.
During his time on the banks of the Main, Ebimbe has developed into a versatile player who can not only play as a right-back or right-wing back but can even play centrally in midfield. Last season saw him feature 44 times for Frankfurt, scoring 10 and assisting four as the club finished sixth in the Bundesliga.
A departure of Ebimbe could explain Frankfurt’s reported interest in Sergi Roberto.
Frankfurt kicks off their Bundesliga season against Borussia Dortmund on Saturday after opening their season with a 4-1 win against Eintracht Braunschweig in the DFB Pokal.
