Erling Haaland equals Manchester City's unwanted record by proving he is human after all in disappointing Chelsea performance

Manchester City striker Erling Haaland equaled an unwanted seven-year record after missing nine chances against Chelsea.

The 23-year-old failed to add to his 16 Premier League goals this season as the Citizens dropped two points in the 1-1 draw at the Etihad.

Commenting on Haaland's profligacy after the match, pep guardiola he refused to criticize his star man.

He told Sky Sports: “I played 11 years (at Barcelona) and scored 11 goals, so I can't give Erling much advice.

“The next goal will score. In the first half we didn't do well and that's what we have to improve.”

After an explosive start to the campaign, Haaland has scored two goals in his last six top-flight games.

Those goals came in last week's 2-0 win against Everton, where he showed just how clinical he can be.

City's draw now leaves them third in the table, two points behind Arsenal in second place and four behind leaders Liverpool.

And despite having one less game, City know that victory will not allow them to return to the top of the Premier League.
