Erling Haaland scores goals like he's ordering from McDonald's, but he should look to the Chelsea legend to become the perfect striker

Troy Deeney says Erling Haaland is 'ridiculous' but the Manchester City star could be even better if he emulated Didier Drogba.

Man City and Arsenal will meet in what could be the first of two Premier League title clashes this season on Sunday.

One man, the Gunners fans, and probably Mikel ArtetaCity talisman Haaland will have sleepless nights ahead of the tie.

The striker has won the Premier League Golden Boot for the last two seasons and his fine form has not stopped this campaign, scoring nine goals, including two hat-tricks, in four league games.

“This guy is big, powerful, takes four shots a game and scores three. It's ridiculous.

“But if there was an Achilles heel, it would probably be (when) his back is to goal. Or, if there is not enough space behind, something Arsenal do very well against him. So my advice would be to seek advice from people much better than me. By the way, I would help him do it for free if he wants.

“Talk to someone like Didier DrogbaGo ask Didier: “How did they keep the ball up?” A lot of times people know how to hold the ball, they just didn't plan it.

While both City and Arsenal have interesting attacking options beyond Haaland, Deeney believes the clash will be another tight encounter.

Their last game at the Etihad ended in a 0-0 draw, with the Gunners having won 1-0 in the previous clash at the Emirates.

“I think on paper it's going to be a very interesting game,” Deeney said. “I think it's going to be a very pragmatic game. I think Arsenal are going to be very defensive, I think they're going to try to attack City on the counter and take advantage of set pieces.

“I think Manchester City, If Kevin (De Bruyne) doesn't playThey will have to find a new way to win. But the important thing is whether Arsenal can keep Haaland out. Haaland is the man.

“When we go into games now we don’t think about ‘Haaland could score’, we think about ‘how many will he score?’. But I think Arsenal have done well of late, they will just drop back and limit the amount of space he has.

“I know I shouldn't say this, but I think it will be a boring 1-0 against a team. We need a goal from City soon, which means Arsenal have to come out and play at full strength.”

Manchester City have conceded the first goal in each of their last two Premier League home wins.

First came newly promoted Ipswich, who lost 4-1, followed by Brentford, who suffered a 2-1 defeat late on.

But if Arsenal can score first, Deeney believes they can secure victory.

He said: “You'd have to. When you look at how that defensive line and goalkeeper play, they're managing to keep a clean sheet every two weeks.

“If you look at their current situation, you can see they've travelled a lot. I know the north London derby could have been a home game, right? The amount of travelling. One day away from home, followed by another day away from home, followed by another day away from home, it's not good for anyone.

“I know people think players are spoiled brats and live wonderful lives, but just like everyone else, we all like our own bed!

“They will know that it is the end of a very difficult week and they will want to hold on until the end and be looking forward to this big match.”

Title decided for September?

Arsenal's record at the Etihad has been their Achilles heel in the title race over the past two seasons.

And although this clash comes just five games into the new campaign, City will be five points clear of Arsenal if they win, and Deeney says the Gunners cannot afford to let that happen.

He said: “I think it’s one of those things, if Arsenal lose, people will say City have won.

“But the only way City couldn't win was because of attacks. I don't think they will lose from a footballing perspective.

“It's very difficult to think that they're going to lose two games in a row and then allow Arsenal to beat them in the return leg.

“City have had this situation in the last 10 games, you know we had the Fergie moment, you know they are going to score. In the last 10 games of the season, City just say 'we are going to win all 10'.

“It's like Tiger Woods In golf, when he was at his best, if he was behind, you knew he was going to come and make a late attack.

“For everyone else, the team is entering a period of exhaustion, while City is entering a period of hyperactivity. They win the game, the next one, the next one.

“I think they will win the league again.”
