Manchester United He beat Barnsley in the third round of the Carabao Cup by securing his most emphatic victory under Erik the Hag – a 7-0 success.

They return to the Premier League on Saturday with a visit to Crystal Palace's Selhurst Park, where they lost 4-0 in May this year.

Several changes are expected to be made to the team's starting XI when they take on Oliver Glasner's men. The Red Devils will likely line up as follows:

Goalkeeper – Altay Bayindir started in the Cup on Tuesday but, despite not conceding a goal, will lose his place to Andre Onana as the Cameroonian returns to his post between the sticks.

Defenders – Diogo Dalot, who played at right-back against Barnsley, will return to the left with Luke Shaw's participation still doubtful, while Noussair Mazraoui will play on the right side of Man Utd's back four.

The centre-backs are likely to change with Jonny Evans and Harry Maguire returns to the bench to make way for Matthijs de Ligt and Lisandro Martínez.

Garnacho, Rashford and Eriksen will be starters

Midfielders – Manuel Ugarte started against Barnsley but is not yet ready for the intensity of the Premier League, so Kobbie Mainoo is likely to partner Christian Eriksen in the double pivot. The Dane, who also played against Southampton last week, scored twice against Barnsley and could therefore keep his place.

Bruno Fernandes will return up front in attacking midfield after being rested for the EFL Cup game and will be flanked by two in-form players, Marcus Rashford and Alejandro Garnacho. The Englishman has scored three goals in his last two appearances, while his Argentine teammate scored twice against Barnsley and also provided two assists. Garnacho is United's top scorer this season and it is time for him to start.

Forward – Joshua Zirkzee has scored just one Premier League goal since joining United from Bologna. He will play as a striker with Rasmus Hojlund He is unlikely to be in a position to take up a starting position despite back to training with the team after his injury.

This is what Manchester United is expected to look like on paper:
