Some Chelsea fans became so excited they tore down the advertising billboard while celebrating a Conor Gallagher goal in stoppage time at Crystal Palace.

Former Eagles loanee Gallagher struck the ball from the edge of the area to put Chelsea 2-1 up in injury time at Selhurst Park to the delight of the traveling Blues fans.

However, the celebrations went too far as a crowd of Chelsea fans looking to celebrate with the goalscorer ended up accidentally causing part of the advertising banner to fall.

Stewards were forced to intervene when some spilled onto the field to ensure no one was hurt. Chelsea Players Ben Chilwell and Cole Palmer offered their assistance to the fallen fans.

Gallagher equalized early in the second half and his second goal was not the winner as Enzo Fernandez added another late in extra time to seal a 3-1 victory.

It looked like it was going to be one of those nights for Chelsea when a spectacular first goal from Jefferson Lerma put Palace 1-0 up at half-time.

But Mauricio Pochettino's men were a team reborn after the break with Gallagher firing into the roof of the Palace net as he met Malo Gusto's cross for the first time in the opening moments of the restart.

Chelsea looked more likely from that point on and got the second in the first minute of added time.

It came back down that right side as Cole Palmer returned the ball to Gallagher, who slotted it past Dean Henderson.

Fernandez then put the result beyond doubt when his shot found the top corner after Palmer had passed it towards the goal.
