Everton They are reportedly considering a move to sign Luton Town star Elijah Adebayo, according to journalist Alan Nixon.

Having moved to Kenilworth Road in 2021, the 26-year-old helped his side to promotion during the 2022/23 season. However, the Hatters failed to survive relegation last season and were relegated straight to the Championship.

Despite that, Adebayo showed glimpses of his goalscoring ability in the Premier League Last season, he scored 10 goals in 16 starts.

Now, Nixon has reported on Sponsor With Dominic Calvert-Lewin entering the final year of his current contract and yet to sign an extension, Everton are exploring options in the market as a potential replacement for him and have identified Adebayo as a serious option.

The journalist also claims that the Toffees could formalise their interest in signing the Luton star in January if they manage to secure Calvert-Lewin in the winter.

Adebayo to Everton

Rob Edwards' side want a fee of around £15m to £20m to sell their star and Everton could manage to secure his signature by matching the valuation if they eventually sell Calvert-Lewin.

The Merseyside club have found it difficult to score goals this season, having only managed to score twice in three games, with both goals coming against Bournemouth last time out.

Therefore, signing a new striker in January could be the right decision to help Sean Dyche survive relegation and Adebayo could be a smart acquisition if they buy him.

The 1.93m tall Englishman is quick, strong, excellent in the air, good at holding up play and also works hard out of possession. He therefore possesses the necessary attributes that Dyche wants in his striker.

However, it will be interesting to see if the Merseyside club ultimately opt to make a concrete approach to secure his signature in the winter window.

Meanwhile, after three consecutive Premier League defeats, Everton find themselves bottom of the table. They will therefore be desperate to finally win their first game of this league campaign in the next match after the international break, but achieving that will not be easy as their next league fixture is against Aston Villa at Villa Park.
