After being Hurled with insults by angry supporters After two consecutive defeats to start the new campaign, Sean Dyche's men looked to have responded against the Cherries.

Two quick goals from Michael Keane and Dominic Calvert-Lewin He had the Merseysiders 2-0 up after 57 minutes, with Bournemouth looking down and out and the hosts cruising to a first win of the season.

But that's when everything went wrong, terribly, terribly wrong.

Everton With three minutes left in regulation time, the team was winning 2-0 and ended up losing the match 3-2.

The home side went to sleep at the back and the Cherries said “thank you very much”, while goals from Antoine Semenyo (87'), Lewis Cook (90+2') and Luis Sinisterra (90+6') turned a dream afternoon into a hellish nightmare for the home side.

And it also wrote this Everton team into the history books of English football: according to Opta data, it is the last time a team has been two goals ahead in a game and gone on to lose in the Premier League.

The game was broadcast live on talkSPORT 2, with reaction from commentary team Ian Danter and former Arsenal winger Perry's Groves It really says it all.

And as they described the scenes unfolding before their eyes, the desperate cries of outraged Everton supporters, who had clearly seen enough, could be heard.

“There's a stunned silence here. Everton fans can't believe what they're seeing. I can't believe what I'm seeing,” Groves said after Bournemouth's equaliser.

“There are now ten zombies in Everton shirts. They are completely stunned. Sean Dyche He's gesturing in his technical box, pointing to his head, but it's too late for that.

“These ten field players look like completely drunk heavyweight boxers who have been punched a few times and are waiting for the blow that will knock the wind out of them.”

They didn't have to wait long: he arrived just four minutes later.

“Football is absolutely mad, it's madness,” Groves said after Bournemouth's third goal.

Danny Murphy defends Everton fans and urges players to simply 'play better' to improve the situation

“This is daylight robbery. The Bournemouth players are wearing their Dick Turpin masks.

“I'll never know how Bournemouth won this game. They were dead and buried after 80 minutes, they weren't in the game, but Everton's players have completely lost their heads.

“Absolutely shocking. This has to be one of the most important changes in the history of the Premier League.

“And the silence is deafening. Everton fans were very excited, they saw a good performance from their team, they applauded their substituted players off the pitch, but then they completely switched off defensively. You can see their shoulders hunched, and from then on it was all over.

“You think you’ve seen everything in football and then you see this game. It’s crazy. Mind-blowing.”

Danter added: “Everton have really managed to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory. There's a mass exodus all around us at Goodison Park. What a game of football!

“The final whistle blows and the boos from the few remaining Everton fans tell you how they feel. They were in seventh heaven when goals from Keane and Calvert-Lewin put them firmly in control, and that was the result for much of the second half.

“But Bournemouth, who have won just two of their last ten Premier League away games, found a way to score three goals in the final minutes of added time to seal a remarkable victory here at Goodison Park.

“Everton have lost two home games in a row but no one would have believed that was possible with five minutes remaining in normal time.

“The home fans are in desperate disbelief, and the Bournemouth fans are in a different kind of disbelief – they don’t know how they won!”

Bournemouth certainly had fun after the final whistle, posting “Jokes” next to the scoreboard on social media.

But Everton fans will be outraged that their historic club has been reduced to the centre of attention in the Premier League.
