Everton say they are sending all their love to former striker Kevin Campbell after he fell ill.
The echo of Liverpool Sadly, the 54-year-old was taken to hospital after falling ill last week.
Campbell began his career at Arsenal and initially joined the candies in 1999 on loan from Turkish side Trabzonspor.
He then moved permanently to Goodison Park that summer and made 160 appearances for the club in total, scoring 50 goals.
Amid the sad news, Everton took to social media to send their best wishes to Campbell, as well as his family.
In X, they said: “We have been informed that our former striker Kevin Campbell is currently very ill.

“Not only is he a great footballer but an incredible person, Kevin is, and always has been, a fighter and we wish him and his family the best at this difficult time. We send him all our love.”
Campbell's former Arsenal teammate Ray Parlor also sent a heartfelt message to the former striker.
“I heard my former teammate Kevin Campbell is struggling right now,” he said in a video on X.
“All your friends and family, the whole football family are behind you, Kev. I know you are a strong-willed teammate, stay positive.
“I'm sure everyone is on your side trying to help you, so I hope you get better soon, buddy, and you'll be back to flying like always.”
As well as spells at Arsenal and Everton, Campbell also played for Nottingham Forest, West Brom and Cardiff.
