Fabian Hurzeler is the Texas-born 'next Julian Nagelsmann' who had a 'great career' predicted as a teenager by Liverpool's cult hero
Fabian Hurzeler is one of the next young prodigies in the coaching world and could now be heading to the Premier League.
talkSPORT understands the 31-year-old is a leading candidate to replace Roberto De Zerbi as Brighton manager this summer.
He guided 2. Bundesliga side St. Pauli to glory last season after a 13-year wait, securing them promotion to the German top flight as title winners.
In doing so, Hurzeler will become the youngest coach in any of Europe's top five leagues; However, his future could now lie in England.
He has spent his entire playing and coaching career in Germany, but curiously he was born in Texas, United States.
The Houston-born coach moved to his mother's native country as a teenager and began his career as a player in the youth teams of the Bayern Munich.

It was there that his future success as a coach was predicted by an eventual Liverpool cult hero, despite still being a teenager.
Former Reds star Emre Can He played alongside Hurzeler in the Bayern academy and is said to have had prophesied a “great coaching career” for his youth teammate.
And it seems that Can was right: the reputation of the St. Pauli coach is growing rapidly.
Due to his success as a young coach in Germany, Hurzeler has been compared to the current head of the national team. Julian Nagelsmann.
Nagelsmann, five years older than Hurzeler, holds the record for being the youngest coach in Bundesliga history and took charge of Bayern Munich and will now lead his country until Euro 2024.
If Hurzeler is appointed Brighton manager, he will become the youngest manager in the Premier League, following in the footsteps of the 36-year-old.
But he doesn't want to be compared to the German and his goal is to create his own special trip.
He said earlier this year: “It wouldn't be fair to him (to compare him) because he is an incredible coach.
“Of course, I always hear those comparisons with Julian Nagelsmann. But like I said, I must be humble and follow my own path.
“I can't do it the same way because it's Julian Nagelsmann's style, and I try to follow Fabian Hürzeler's style.”
The 'Hurzeler style' has been inspired by his time at Bayern Munich and has made reference to the Bavarians when talking about his style of play.
“The time I spent there created my personality, because I have to be honest, I was there, I think 10 or 11 years,” Hurzeler said.
“The interesting thing is that not only do you have to be successful, but you also have to play a certain way and you have to play a very good style of football.
“That's what creates my personality and my way of thinking about my style of play. “
Brighton could therefore be set to make an exciting appointment, bringing the essence of Bayern to the Amex Stadium next season.
Hurzeler is one of the leading candidates to become Seagulls coach, but Malmö's Henrik Rydstrom is also on the club's shortlist.
