Fabrizio Romano confirms the departure of the Arsenal defender
According to journalist Fabrizio Romano, Arsenal terminated the contract of young centre-back Omar Rekik before the transfer deadline Friday night.
The Gunners had an eventful end to the summer transfer window. They signed Neto and Raheem Sterling on the final day of the deadline and got rid of Eddie Nketiah and Aaron Ramsdale.

After three years at Arsenal, Rekik has decided to leave the club as a free agent. The Gunners have made the right decision with the Tunisian international, who had not received any concrete offers during the transfer window.
The 22-year-old could have trained with the development squad until January, but has opted to seek a new challenge as soon as possible. As a free agent, he can evaluate offers without a deadline.
Rekik becomes the second high-profile academy defender to leave Arsenal this summer, following Reuell Walters. The 19-year-old turned down a new contract with the Gunners to join Championship side Luton Town.
Walters was a regular at the north London giants' training sessions last season, but the teenager did not make his competitive debut. He has been an ever-present for Luton since their return to the second tier.
