Assists and goals are the motto of this group's game.

We all know who the heavyweights are, so the real question is: who are the best, most affordable options to accompany them?

This year, FPL bosses have been blessed with a variety of fantastic options.

A host of stars range from a little-known starter earning £5.0m to a club captain earning £8.5m who could be given a new lease on life.

And they can offer both short- and long-term options for their teams.

Below, talkSPORT takes you through those options and selects seven of the best for your consideration.

Morgan Rogers (£5.0m)

  • Current club: Aston Villa
  • Last season's FPL points: 35
  • Opening matches: West Ham (away), Arsenal (home), Leicester (away)

The former Middlesbrough The youngster broke into Villa's first team last season and looks set to play a bigger role this term.

In preseason he started most of the matches, scoring three goals and providing two assists.

It could be a real bargain if Villa don't sign anyone in that position before the season starts.

Emile Smith Rowe (£5.5 million)

  • Current club: Fulham
  • Last season's FPL points: 25
  • Opening matches: Manchester United (away), Leicester (home), Ipswich (away)

The former Arsenal The midfielder has finally left the nest in search of first-team minutes.

And the real winner could be their FPL team.

He has already scored two goals in pre-season and his team-mates, including former Gunners star Alex Iwobi, I love him already.

Christopher Nkunku (£6.5m)

  • Current club: Chelsea
  • Last season's FPL points: 29
  • Opening matches: Manchester City (home), Wolves (away), Crystal Palace (home)

It hasn't been an amazing pre-season for Chelsea, but there are some green shoots.

One of them is Nkunku and since he is listed as a midfielder, his offensive output could boost his point total.

In his last two league campaigns with RB Leipzig He managed 36 goals and 17 assists in total, any figure like that will make you laugh until you win the mini league title.

Alejandro Garnacho (£6.5m)

  • Current club: Man Utd
  • Last season's FPL points: 131
  • Opening matches: Fulham (home), Brighton (away), Liverpool (home)

Let's face it, Erik the HagChelsea's stars are the main reason for optimism at Old Trafford.

He has returned from a America's Cup win and will want to improve on last season's seven goals and four assists in the Premier League.

Garnacho is no longer an impact player and could really improve his style, especially with new signings to complement him.

Eberechi Eze (£7.0m)

  • Current club: Crystal Palace
  • Last season's FPL points: 136
  • Opening matches: Brentford (away), West Ham (home), Chelsea (away)

Crystal Palace were impressive under Oliver Glasner at the end of last season and Eze was a key player.

The loss of a teammate Michael Olise It could be a blow to the team, but it could help. Euro 2024 star numbers.

He will become a focal point, alongside top scorer Jean-Philippe Mateta, with goals and assists potentially on the rise.

Eze has been linked with a summer move but if he stays he will be the Eagles' main man.

Bruno Fernandes (£8.5m)

  • Current club: Man Utd
  • Last season's FPL points: 166
  • Opening matches: Fulham (home), Brighton (away), Liverpool (home)

Well, it's not a traditional bargain at this price.

However, considering that he is signing a new contract and his importance to the team, it makes sense.

Why take a risk on a higher-priced player when Fernandes, in a team with new recruits, could have a stellar campaign and allow you to spend big elsewhere?
