Bild reports on the plan that Felix Magath has concocted if he is to become Hamburg’s sporting director and replace Jonas Boldt.
The future of Boldt is in doubt with Hamburg on the verge of missing promotion once again, while the decision to sack Tim Walter and replace him with Steffen Baumgart has backfired. This has resulted in rumours about Jörg Schmadtke or Magath replacing him.
If Magath does take charge, he has a plan in place. The first step would be to replace Baumgart as head coach with former Real Madrid and Schalke striker Raul and will promote under-21 coach Pit Reimers to be his assistant. Magath and Raul have a history as the former brought the Spaniard to Germany when he joined Schalke.
Raul is currently not against the idea of taking on a new challenge, in what would be his first as a senior head coach.
The other part of his plan will bring in someone to help with the clubs finances, as in a potential investor. Two are currently under consideration. They both have conifdents in hte supvirsory board at Hamburg as well.
There have been discussions between Magath and the supervisory board but not about this current plan.
