But United Know that even though Rashford will be tied to the club until 2028, they may be forced into a cut-price sale if they wish to part ways.
The academy graduate is one of the club's highest earners, where he pockets the lion's share of £400,000-a-week, including bonuses.
His high wages could deter any interested club willing to offer Rashford the opportunity to reinvent himself.
Rashford has struggled for consistency so far this season, contributing seven goals and three assists in 24 appearances in all competitions.
But there is no denying his obvious talent, and with the player facing an uncertain future, talkSPORT.com takes a look at five potential clubs he could link up with.
Arsenal
Arsenal It is known that they are in the market to strengthen their front line, with the boss Mikel Arteta A great fan of versatile players.
If the Gunners go ahead with a move for Rashford, he could slot in on the left wing over an out-of-form duo. Gabriel Martinelli and Leandro Trossard.
Although he would also offer tough competition for the striker Kai Havertzwho has not yet fully convinced fans that he should be the starting centre-forward in the coming years.
Arsenal have shown in recent years that they are not afraid to poach star players from rival clubs, having brought in Gabriel Jesus and Oleksandr Zinchenko from City, Havertz, Jorginho and Raheem Sterling from Chelsea and Declan Rice from West Ham.
Although journalist Henry Winter, with whom Rashford spoke candidly about his future, is not convinced he will end up in north London.
The talkSPORT columnist said of White and Jordan: “Arsenal, with Martinelli there are several problems. But no, absolutely no indication (he will go there).”
Chelsea
The Blues already attacked United at the summer deadline to bring in the winger Jadon Sancho in an initial loan agreement.
sancho He struggled to regain his form at United but has rediscovered his love of the game in west London, having been directly involved in seven goals in 12 games.
And Chelsea could be looking for a similar result with Rashford if they decide to press ahead with a move with the club to potentially be in the market for a new winger.
Mykhailo Mudryk has been provisionally suspended for the Blues after failing an anti-doping test.
He Ukrainian faces a lengthy suspension after testing positive for the banned substance Meldonium in an FA urine sample.
Paris Saint Germain
PSG was the club that failed to sign Rashford in 2022 but maintained its interest in the player, and talkSPORT reported how considered a movement sign him in the summer.
Club president Nasser Al-Khelaifi is known to be a big admirer of Rashford and met his representatives before and after signing his contract extension with United.
And PSG could press ahead with a move for Rashford in January, although the club is yet to replace him. Kylian Mbappé up top, while this season they have relied heavily on winger Bradley Barcola, who has scored ten of their 40 Ligue 1 goals.
Although it remains to be seen whether PSG will convert their interest into a formal offer, having opted to sign younger players rather than star names in recent transfer windows.
Commenting on whether Rashford would be an option for the French giants, talkSPORT correspondent Ben Jacobs said on Sports Breakfast: “The PSG team felt they were being used as leverage to get Rashford what he wanted at Manchester United. .
“So PSG wouldn't move for Rashford unless they get a come-get-me plea, and you could argue that maybe the interview with Henry Winter is a come-get-me plea.”
Barcelona
While Barca are stacked with forwards, they could see Rashford as a long-term successor to the striker. Robert Lewandowskiwho is now 36 years old.
Commenting on the interest in him, Jacobs said: “You have (a move to) Spain as a possibility, Barcelona have scouted Rashford.
“But salaries are an obstacle.”
As for Winter's opinion on Barça as a possible destination, he simply stated: “Barcelona, do they have money?”
Saudi Arabia
If there is one place that could not only match Rashford's current salaries, but increase them, it is Saudi Arabia.
talkSPORT understands that clubs such as Al Ittihad, managed by former United defender Laurent Blanc, are closely monitoring Rashford's situation.
But Rashford is believed to be aware that playing in the Middle East could hurt his chances of being selected for England for the 2026 World Cup, as long as the Three Lions qualify.
Commenting on a possible Saudi switch, Jacobs said: “I think Europe is the key word because Rashford has to think at 27 where he has the best chance to play and give himself the chance to also have the England team.
“And therefore, although there are Saudi suitors, I think it is less likely that in 2025 (January or summer) Saudi Arabia will be a destination.
“That said, central negotiators met with Manchester United in January 2023 and Rashford along with Casemiro and Raphael Varane were flagged as possibilities for players who could be available in the coming windows.”
Jacobs added: “Al Qadsiah and Al Ittihad – both teams have told Michael Emenalo (Saudi Pro League sporting director) that if Rashford is available on the market, they will want him.”
