Girona have had a tough pre-season in terms of results, made worse by their back-to-back defeats against Newcastle United (4-0) and Bournemouth (3-2) on Friday and Saturday respectively. It also appears to be a personal concern ahead of their opening game of the 2024-25 season, which is against Real Betis on Thursday night.

Lasidlav Krejci, of Girona first signing of the summer, he did not play since the friendly against Montpellier on July 20. His absence has not been explained, which will be a concern for the club's supporters – it appears he will not play against Betis, but it is yet to be determined whether any of his teammates will be the same .
