Florian Wirtz prefers a move to Bayern Munich, according to Sky Germany.
The Bayer Leverkusen ace is expected to leave the club next summer despite being under contract until 2027.
It’s believed that B04 will receive somewhere in the region of €100m for the 21-year-old attacking midfielder.
As per the report, Wirtz would prefer a move to Bayern rather than a move away from the Bundesliga.
The German international has gathered interest from the likes of Real Madrid and Manchester City in recent months with the two clubs likely to battle it out with Bayern for the player’s signature.
Despite Wirtz’s rumoured preference in a move to Bavaria, there has been no official talks between Bayern and B04.
Bayern and Die Mannschaft
Wirtz is currently on international duty with Germany as they prepare for Nations League games against Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Netherlands.
With several Bayern players in the squad, it’s likely that they’ll be private discussions with Wirtz as they try to present Bayern as the best option this summer.
Wirtz already has a great personal and professional relationship with Bayern’s Jamal Musisala. The duo were pictured talking in the Allianz Arena after Bayern’s 1-1 draw with Leverkusen.
A lot still has to fall into place ahead of any potential move next summer but it’s already shaping up to be one of the hotest topics.
