Former Liverpool and Manchester United stars and two World Cup winners headline the impressive XI of free agents still available now

The Premier League transfer window may have slammed shut, but clubs can still sign top players for nothing.

And there are still plenty of star-studded talents available for nothing, from goalkeeper to striker.

That includes the former Manchester United striker Antonio Martial and Liverpool cult hero Joel Matip.

Premier League clubs will present their final squads on September 14 and teams could be looking to land some players at bargain prices.

Keylor Navas – Goalkeeper

Although the Costa Rican goalkeeper is 37 years old, he remains a good option for any top-tier team looking for a new number one, or a top-class backup.

And he even has Premier League experience having spent the second half of the 2022/23 season on loan at Nottingham Forest.

A proven winner, Navas boasts three Champions League titles, a LaLiga crown, three Ligue 1 championships and three Coupe de France triumphs.

Sergio Ramos – centre-back

He may be 38, but the veteran Spaniard remains a formidable centre-back.

The Real Madrid legend spent the 2023/24 campaign at his former club Sevilla, where he made 37 appearances in all competitions.

Moves to Saudi Arabia and MLS have been mooted, and Premier League clubs must act quickly if they are to secure the services of the 2010 World Cup winner.

Joel Matip – Centre-back

The 33-year-old established himself as one of England's best centre-backs during his eight-year spell at Liverpool.

Matip forged a brilliant partnership alongside Virgil van Dijk, helping the Reds win every domestic competition along with the Champions League.

Injuries limited him to just 14 appearances last season, but there is no doubting his evident class.

Mats Hummels – centre-back

One of the most underrated centre-backs of this generation, the 35-year-old has been an ever-present starter for both Borussia Dortmund and Bayern Munich.

He even played a role in BVB reaching the Champions League final last season, where the German giants lost to Real Madrid.

West Ham have been heavily linked with the 2014 World Cup winner, where he could prove to be a mentor to the club's young defence.

André Gomes – CM

The 31-year-old was released by Everton this summer to end his time on Merseyside.

Having initially joined on loan from Barcelona in 2018, the Euro 2016 winner made 114 appearances, although his time there was plagued by numerous setbacks.

But if he is fully fit, the Portuguese midfielder would prove to be more than just a team player.

Gomes was one of the most sought-after midfielders in Europe eight years ago when he joined Barcelona.

Adrien Rabiot – Main Midfielder

Incredibly, the 29 years old He has yet to be signed, despite having been a key player for Juventus during his five-year stay in Turin.

He even started for France at Euro 2024, and the former PSG star is still in his prime.

Liverpool and Manchester United have been linked with a possible transfer this summer, and it remains to be seen whether Rabiot will finally showcase his talents in the Premier League.

Dele Alli-AM

Once considered a generational talent, injuries and mental health issues have limited him to just 17 appearances over the past two seasons.

He failed to make a single appearance for Everton last season, but as shown in Training images Released by the 28-year-old in June, the 37-capped England international can still be a force to be reckoned with.

All the former Tottenham hero needs is a chance, and he can certainly repay any club's confidence on the pitch.

Victor Moses – RM

Able to play as a right midfielder or right-back, the versatile former Chelsea man has spent the last four seasons in Russia with Spartak Moscow.

A Premier League and FA Cup winner with the Blues, the 33-year-old has also impressed at Liverpool, Inter Milan and West Ham during his career so far.

Ivan Perisic-LM

Able to play anywhere on the left flank, whether in defence, midfield or attack, the 35-year-old is the epitome of a perfect team player.

He shone in the 2022/23 season at Tottenham, before falling down the pecking order, forcing him to return to his native Croatia to join Hadjuk Split.

After winning titles at Dortmund, Munich and Inter, the 2018 World Cup runners-up still have a lot of football left in them.

Antonio Marcial – ST

Martial joined United from Monaco in 2015 and is shaping up to be one of the best players in the world.

But repeated injury setbacks have prevented him from reaching his full potential, with the 28-year-old missing a total of 108 games as a result of 23 different knocks.

However, he remains a viable option for potential suitors as the Frenchman is a lethal finisher in front of goal.

Although Greek club AEK Athens are believed to be interested in signing him, English clubs are in danger of missing out on his signature.

Martial won the FA Cup, League Cup and Europa League during his time at United.

Memphis Depay-ST

Depay, a former teammate of Martial at Old Trafford, has underperformed for United, scoring just seven goals in 53 games.

But he reinvented himself after joining Lyon in January 2017, earning him a move to Barcelona in 2021, before joining Atletico Madrid the following year.

With 46 international goals to his name for the Netherlands, he is just four goals away from equalling Robin van Persie's record of 50.

Now 30, Depay could finally be ready for one last crack at the Premier League.
