Alex Telles left Al Nassr by mutual consent, just a year after joining the Saudi side from Manchester United.

He 31 years old ended his three-year spell at Old Trafford last summer to move to the Middle East in a £4m transfer.

His move to King Saud University Stadium allowed him to reunite with his former Red Devils teammate. Cristiano Ronaldo.

Together they won the Arab Club Champions Cup, and the left-back was a regular starter for Al Nassr.

In total, he appeared in 38 matches for the Gulf nation's team, contributing three goals and five assists.

He had even featured in the club's opening two Saudi Pro League matches that season.

But the defender and the club have decided to part ways, with Al Nassr set to keep the Brazilian's contract, which is reported to be worth £135,000 a week, as part of his wage bill.

But incredibly, he still made just over £7m in profit during his year-long stay, and Telles will now embark on a new adventure.

Al Nassr paid tribute to his services by sharing a montage video with the player's best moments at the club.

A brief accompanying statement read: “Al Nassr can announce that Brazilian star Alex Telles has left the Club by mutual consent.

“Thanks for everything, Alex.”

There has been talk of a return to Porto, while Telles could look to return to his native Brazil, ten years after leaving Gremio for Galatasaray.

Telles arrived at Old Trafford in 2020 for £15m after a season in which he scored 13 goals in all competitions for Porto.

He was expected to challenge Luke Shaw for a starting place at the Theatre of Dreams, but the England international has raised his game to another level.

As a result of Shaw's impressive form, Telles was limited to just nine Premier League appearances.

The 2021/22 campaign was once again frustrating for Telles, as he only started 18 top-flight games.

This was followed by a loan spell at Sevilla, where he made 38 appearances, starting with the Europa League final win over Roma.
