Former Real Madrid boss Jose Mourinho hit with a fine of 1.5 million euros by the Spanish authorities
Not only is Jose Mourinho unemployed, but he is also facing money problems. The Portuguese manager, recently from Roma, has been hit with a hefty fine by the Spanish tax authorities, although he has presumably saved enough to take the hit.
Mourinho he had an open case that he had appealed for tax evasion from the period of 2010-12 when he was employed by Real Madrid. His appeal was rejected by the Supreme Court, as per Reliefand will be forced to pay a fine of €571 thousand, in addition to a sum of €881 thousand, for a total of more than €1.45 million.
While he escaped the charges for the year 2010, the tax authorities found that he did not pay the correct tax for the years 2011 and 2012. Real Madrid they paid agency fees to Jorge Mendes' manager out of his salary, instead of him.
However, it has not been confirmed, and Mourinho becomes the latest high-profile figure in Spain to fail the tax.
