The Aston Villa Foundation are pleased to be working with Children’s Book Project for a second year, collecting pre-loved books to gift to children across Birmingham.

Last year’s book drive saw over 3,000 books donated by fans, with 880 of the books handed to Lozells Junior and Infant School through a gifting event, where children were able to pick and choose a book to take home and keep. This was the Children’s Book Project’s first major event in Birmingham.

Laura Forrester, Regional Coordinator for the Children’s Book Project in Birmingham, said: “We are delighted to be partnering with the Aston Villa Foundation once again and the opportunity to gift thousands more books. Our established local hubs enable us to gift books throughout the year, to support and nurture reading communities. To date, 17 Birmingham primary schools have been thrilled to receive books through our programme and we look forward to working with many more in the future.

“We are sincerely grateful for all donations from supporters and the local community, to help put more books into the hands of children across the city. We hope this year’s book drive will be an even bigger success and thank the Aston Villa Foundation for all their wonderful support!”
