Frank Lampard turned down the opportunity to coach Canada after holding talks with the country's FA, talkSPORT understands.

The North American nation had included him on a short list of candidates to take them to the 2026 World Cup, of which they are co-hosts.
But despite holding talks with the Canadian Soccer Federation, Lampard turned down the chance to become their coach because he is willing to wait for the right opportunity.
The former England international has not trained since his interim spell at the helm of the Chelsea towards the end of last season when he replaced Graham Potter.
Despite being in charge of just 11 matches, he oversaw just one win and eight defeats in a miserable period from April 6 to May 28.
Speculation grew last month that Lampard was set to return to the dugout a year after joining Chelsea when he was spotted watching England train ahead of their friendlies against Brazil and Belgium.
The 45-year-old coach is eager to continue his career as a coach, in what would be his fifth position after Derby CountyChelsea, Everton and Chelsea again.
However, he believes Canada is not the right opportunity and is willing to wait until the ideal position becomes available.
Mauro Biello is currently in charge of the CONCACAF nation after becoming interim head coach following John Herdman's decision to take over at Toronto FC.

Meanwhile, Lampard led Derby to the Championship play-off final, achieved Champions League qualification and an FA Cup final with Chelsea and helped keep Everton in the Premier League after replacing to Rafa Benítez in January 2022.
“I'm enjoying being with the family and I hope to return at some point,” Lampard said earlier this year.
“Hopefully something will come up that seems right to me, I really want to get back to work but, as I reiterate, I am enjoying family life.
“It's hard work, so when you're away, it's nice to appreciate being around all my kids.
“You love the work. You understand the rigors of this today. I have enjoyed all the clubs I have worked with.
“They have all been great challenges for different reasons. I enjoy working with players, improving the players and the team, so let's see what comes next.”
