French President Emmanuel Macron has negotiated with his Real Madrid counterpart Florentino Perez over Kylian Mbappe
Real Madrid President Florentino Perez was in Paris on Tuesday to attend a FIFA anniversary gala, celebrating 120 years since the foundation of soccer's governing body, and he met none other than French President Emmanuel Macron . It was the last thing he wanted to see as the head coach of the Santiago Bernabeu.
The topic on his mind was Kylian Mbappé, and although there was no suggestion he wanted the French striker to remain in Paris – as in 2022 – Macron was keen to see Mbappe return quickly for the Olympics in the French capital this summer. The Games will take place just 10 days after the Euro final. According to MD, Macron spoke with Perez about the possibility of Mbappe leading the French side under Thierry Henry. Perez rejected his request, and the implication is that Mbappe will join Los Blancos in late July or early August, after the post-Euro holidays.
Mbappe is likely to feature before that point, and will no doubt be included in their pre-season tour. The opportunity to parade without a doubt the best forward in the world, and its biggest signing since Cristiano Ronaldo, to the crowd of the United States will be irresistible for Real Madrid. It could also be worth millions for Blancos.
