Gabriel Magalhaes delights fans as Arsenal star rubs more salt into Tottenham's wounds with cheeky provocation
A cheeky smile from Arsenal star Gabriel Magalhaes was all it took to rub more salt into Tottenham's open wounds.
After Arsenalis dominant 3-1 victory At Brentford on Wednesday night, the Brazilian defender decided to relax by playing FC 25 on his PlayStation.
Fans were able to check out Gabriel's gaming session as it was recorded on Instagram live.
One follower decided to try their luck and see if they could get Gabriel to bite a brutal dig aimed at Tottenham.
In the top right corner of the video, the comment read: “Look at the camera if the Spurs are shit.”
Three seconds after seeing the comment, Gabriel turned to the camera and smiled.
If he was no longer a fan favourite, Gabriel's brutal trolling of Tottenham will no doubt have endeared him even more to Arsenal fans.
Gabriel's thinly veiled dig is also the last thing Tottenham fans would have wanted to see given their worrying form this season.
Ange Postecoglou's side have won just once in their last seven league games, with the only victory coming against bottom-placed Southampton.
In that alarming run, Tottenham has scored 15 goals, six of them in a brutal defeat against Liverpool.
Tottenham has also developed a worrying trend that has filled its followers with concern.
The north London team became the first team in Premier League history to concede the first goal in 15 games in a single calendar year, pointing to a serious defensive problem.
Postecoglou's second season in charge is also markedly different to his first at Tottenham.
After 18 games last season, Tottenham had 37 points thanks to 11 wins, three draws and only four losses.
At the same time this campaign, Tottenham achieved seven wins, two draws and nine losses for a total of 23 points.
In Postecoglou's defense, his team has been devastated by injuries to key players such as Guglielmo Vicario, Cristian Romero and Micky Van de Ven, to name three.
Making Tottenham's problems even worse is the fact that their north London neighbors continue to excel.
Arsenal's victory over Brentford helped them overtake Nottingham Forest and move up to second place in the Premier League as they start 2025 in style.
Goals from Gabriel JesusMikel Merino and Gabriel Martinelli did the business on Mikel Arteta's side.
Jesus' goal was the sixth in his last four games in all competitions for the Gunners and helped close the gap to six points behind league leaders Liverpool.
Tottenham won't have to wait long to get revenge on Gabriel for his Instagram Live gesture when the north London teams clash on January 15.
Arsenal already have bragging rights in the North London derby this season, and Gabriel's 64th-minute header was the difference on September 15.
