Aston Villa wrapped up their 2023/24 campaign with a 5-0 reverse at Crystal Palace on the final day.
Jean-Philippe Mateta’s hat-trick and a brace from Eberechi Eze ensured Villa tasted defeat at Selhurst Park, where the travelling faithful were in fancy dress and fine voice throughout.
The Villa fans were in celebratory mood in the capital with Unai Emery’s team having already sealed fourth place and Champions League football next season.
Villa have achieved the club’s second-highest Premier League points tally (68) and a top-four finish for the first time since 1995/96.
