Nicolò Zaniolo’s late strike earned Aston Villa a deserved share of the spoils with a 1-1 draw at West Ham United.
The substitute poked home a pass from Moussa Diaby at the end of a team move which flowed from back to front, with his third goal of the season rescuing a point for the visitors in the 79th minute.
There was further drama to come as the Hammers saw an effort ruled out for handball deep into injury time following a lengthy VAR review, coming after Michail Antonio also saw his close-range finish disallowed early in the second half.
Villa’s point at London Stadium, where Antonio headed a first-half opener, extends their unbeaten run to eight matches in all competitions on their travels heading into the international period.
