Gareth Bale suggests theory for Mohamed Salah's Liverpool contract public declaration amid 'selfish' accusations
Gareth Bale has suggested that Mohamed Salah's comments about his contract situation at Liverpool could be a ploy to get him paid more by club bosses.
He 32 years He is in the final year of his contract at Anfield and is free to talk to foreign clubs about a free transfer from January.

It remains to be seen if the Egyptian international will commit to his future in Liverpool following comments he made following the club's 3-2 win at Southampton.
He revealed that the Merseyside team have not yet offered him a new contract and that he is “probably more out than in” when discussing his future.
His admission led him to be branded 'selfish' by Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher.
However, the icon of Real Madrid Bullet believes Salah may have been open about his future in an attempt to force Liveprool to pay him what he believes he is worth.
The 35-year-old retired player was part of TNT Sports' pundit team for his former employer's Champions League clash against Liverpool at Anfield.
Ahead of Wednesday night's clash, presenter Laura Woods asked Bale if Salah's contract situation will affect the Reds.
Reflecting on his own experience and whether players discuss their teammates' contract negotiations in the locker room, he said: “No, not really.
“We never talk about that stuff, it's always about training or just life in general.
“So I can't imagine that's going to affect anyone.
“It will be for the people at the top to sort it out with his (Salah's) agent.
“I'm sure he's just making noise to try to get a little more money to be honest!”
Amused by his honest reaction, Manchester United legend Rio Ferdinand asked: “Have you ever done that?”
To which Bale joked: “Well, you know…”
Salah has been Liverpool's standout player this season, with ten goals and six assists in 12 Premier League games.
One of the main reasons the club is eight points clear at the top is that Salah has been directly involved in one top-flight goal in ten games.
