Sky Germany reports that several Bundesliga clubs are monitoring the Genk midfielder Bilal El Khannous and Rennes midfielder Désiré Doué.
Bayer Leverkusen, Borussia Dortmund and RB Leipzig are both interested in the pair but both will not be cheap. El Khannous’s contract at Genk expires in 2027 and it is said he could cost around €35m.
Previously the Moroccan was an option for Leipzig in December and he could be a long-term replacement for loanee Xavi Simons once he returns to PSG in the summer. El Khannous has been one of the bright sparks in a poor season for Genk as the versatile midfielder has scored three and assisted five for the club as they currently sit sixth in the Belgian Pro League.
While Doué’s contract at Rennes expires in 2026, Dortmund had shown an interest in the 18-year-old in the summer when they were looking for a replacement for Jude Bellingham, but they instead opted for Felix Nmecha from Wolfsburg. The versatility of Doué could also mean that he could replace Marco Reus, with the future of the former captain up in the air at the Signal Iduna Park.
