Florian Wirtz, unsurprisingly, was replaced by Leroy Sané for Germany’s 2-0 win against Denmark, but the Bundesliga Player of the Season could be set for a return to Julian Nagelsmann’s starting XI when they play Spain on Friday evening.
Die Mannschaft have certainly found their rhythm with emphatic wins against Scotland and Hungary, but somewhat struggled in their final group game against Switzerland before returning to form against Denmark in the Round of 16. Julian Nagelsmann has rarely tinkered with his starting line-up at Euro 2024, and we should expect to see his preferred eleven against Spain in Stuttgart.
That means a return for Jonathan Tah, who was suspended against Denmark, despite Nico Schlotterbeck’s phenomenal performance. Toni Kroos and Robert Andrich will again act as the double pivot, while Kai Havertz will start in attack ahead of Niclas Füllkrug. The only really discussion is whether or not Leroy Sané retains his place, or Wirtz returns to the starting line-up.
Predicted Germany XI vs Spain
Manuel Neuer – Joshua Kimmich, Antonio Rüdiger, Jonathan Tah, David Raum – Robert Andrich, Toni Kroos – Jamal Musiala, İlkay Gündoğan, Florian Wirtz – Kai Havertz.
