Germany have announced their two opponents will be in their final preparation games for Euro 2024 in June.
The first friendly will be against Ukraine in Nürnberg on the 3rd June. The last time these two teams faced each other was last summer in Bremen where they ended up drawing 3-3. The second friendly will be played at Borussia Park in Mönchengladbach on 7th June where they will play Greece.
On the friendlies, Nagelsmann said: “We have to prepare for different game styles and systems with a view to the European Championship and our group opponents. Ukraine and Greece are two strong-strong, passionate teams – we have recently had our difficulties with opponents of this kind. That’s why, after the upcoming duels with the strong top nations France and the Netherlands, these two teams are exactly the right tests. The hot phase of the European Championship begins with these games at the latest, we are all looking forward to it.”
This will be Germany and Nagelsmann’s final chance to iron out their plans and ideas for Euro 2024 as they open the tournament on the 14th June against Scotland in Munich. The players also have their final chance to impress Nagelsmann during this international break where they face France in Lyon and the Netherlands in Frankfurt.
The DFB have also announced Germany’s training base plans ahead of Euro 2024. The available players will meet on the 26th May and will have a training camp in Thuringia until the 31st before then moving to their usual training base at the Adidas Campus in Herzogenaurach for the remainder of the tournament.
