Girona's summer signings have largely failed to make a significant impact so far this season, perhaps the best being Bryan Gil, who signed on loan from Tottenham Hotspur. The 23-year-old has been a pillar for coach Michel Sanchez, and already, the Catalan club is considering signing him permanently.
Ace for AS Diarythey can do it for 15 million euros, as this is the pre-agreed optional purchase clause that was included in last summer's loan deal. Girona chiefs are considering, having been impressed by Gil's contributions so far.
Gil is not counted on Spurs, so they have to be accommodated Gerona activation of that buyout clause before the end of the season. His contract at the Premier League club ends in 2026, so there could still be the possibility of new negotiations to take place next summer, with the Catalans looking to lower the price they have to pay.
