Even despite last weekend's defeat to Real Madrid, Girona have had a simply outstanding season so far. European football is looking to the cards for the Catalan team, who would like to finish in the first four places in the League, which would secure a place in the Champions League.
Many of Girona's players have been standouts this season, and that includes Paulo Gazzaniga. The 32-year-old signed permanently last summer after being on loan during the 2022-23 campaign, and has impressed, amassing eight clean sheets so far in La Liga.
Gazzaniga has been rewarded for his good form by signing a new contract with Girona, one that will keep him at the club until the end of the 2026-27 season.

Gazzaniga will hope he can help Gerona finish in the Champions League places come the end of the season, and he will be key to their chances of doing so, starting with this weekend's trip to Athletic Club.
