Graeme Souness: Marcus Rashford could become one of the great disappointments of English football

Manchester United striker Marcus Rashford is in danger of squandering his potential and throwing away his career.

“He could end his career as one of the great disappointments in the history of English football, with all the skill he possesses.”

“I think he has everything, the only thing we would say he lacks is that he is not a clinical finisher.

“But he's had a couple of good years, he can drop a shoulder and he's got electric pace.

“He scored 30 goals last year and now he has seven goals (in the Premier League). I'm not describing a top-level player.”

Souness also feels that now is the time for United to cash in on Rashford, who is tied up at the Theater of Dreams until 2028.

He stated: “He's from Manchester, it's his team, but to improve I think he should leave.”
