Chasity Grant is looking forward to a new adventure with Aston Villa after completing a move from Ajax.
The 23-year-old is venturing outside of the Netherlands for the first time in her football career, having impressed at ADO Den Haag and during her four years in Amsterdam.
Grant is enthused by the move to England and the chance to test her skills in the Women’s Super League.
“I’m very happy to sign for the club,” she said.
“I’m ready to start a new adventure in a different country, so I’m very happy.
“I’m ready for the next step in my career. I still had a year left at Ajax but I was very excited to join another club and see different things, another competition.
“It’s a big league and you play against great teams and the best opponents, so it’s very exciting.”
A pacey forward with an eye for goal, Grant arrives at Villa with Champions League experience and domestic trophies under her belt.
She’s also been capped seven times for her national team, and Grant is aiming to continue her progress in claret and blue.
She said: “I talked to Robert (de Pauw) last year and also this year. I’m really excited to play under him and see what he can do with the team.
“I hope we can improve as a team and win things. First off, we have to do things very good as a team to win things.
“I’ve played in the Champions League at Ajax, and the next step in my career is here. I think it’s the best option for me.
“I hope I can do well in the team and be important for the team. I want to help the team grow, so that’s my main goal.”
