Barcelona defends Inigo Martinez may intend to stay at the club this summer, but Hansi Flick does not seem to be desperate to keep him.
The Basque defender has been talked about as a potential makeweight in a deal for Nico Williams of late, and last week it was reported that Martinez will not go anywhere, instead fighting for his place. He is not yet registered for next season, but Barcelona must still pay his contract if he does not.
According to Brand however, Flick made the decision that he does not need Martinez next season, instead preferring it Eric Garcia as their fourth central defender behind Ronald Araujo, Pau Cubarsi and Andreas Christensen, with Jules Kounde expected to play next season on the right sometimes.
Barcelona know that they cannot afford to forget Nico Williams. Laporta's management will make every possible effort this summer to sign him. @Benayadachraf

Flick feels that Garcia would be better at bringing the ball from the back, and he has more goals in him from the defense, he scored five times last season, as Flick intends to establish. In addition, he feels that he could use Garcia in midfield as a pivot, something that Martinez does not like in his eyes.
Martinez played there more regularly than Garcia in his career, although it was much earlier. If Mikayil Faye, as is likely, leaves the club and is followed by Martinez, it will leave Flick without left-footed central defenders, and a bill of several millions to pay in all likelihood, since the Basque defender seems to want to stay . the club
