Harry Kane sets new personal record

Harry Kane recorded his 50th and 51st goal contributions for Bayern Munich this season, surpassing his previous best record of 50 during the 2020/21 season at Tottenham Hotspur.

The Englishman played a key role in Bayern Munich’s 5-1 win at Union Berlin in the Bundesliga Topspiel on Saturday evening which saw Leon Goretzka, Thomas Müller (x2) and Mathys Tel all getting on the scoresheet, alongside Kane.

Although no Bundesliga title, it’s been quite the goalscoring campaign for Kane. With 33 goals in 30 Bundesliga games, never has the Englishman scored as many goals in a single campaign.

But not only has he surpassed his own record for goal contributions (goals and assists) in a single season, the 30-year-old leads the chart for goal contributions of any player in Europe’s top five leagues this season, surpassing Kylian Mbappé who has 41 goals and nine assists in 42 games across all competitions for PSG this season.

Kane and Bayern Munich still have the Champions League to play for

While they’ve conceded the Bundesliga title to Bayer Leverkusen, Kane and Bayern could still end the season with some silverware. The Rekordmeister will face Real Madrid in the Champions League semi-finals after defeating Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal 3-2 on aggregate.
