When Harry Kane signed for Bayern Munich last summer, the England captain was undoubtedly on the hunt for silverware. However, for the first time since the 2011/12 campaign, Der Rekordmeister have failed in the quest for a trophy.

However, in spite of Bayern’s disappointing season, Kane has enjoyed yet another remarkable individual campaign. Having arrived from Tottenham Hotspur for a club record fee of €100 million, there was a significant amount of expectation placed on the 30-year-old’s shoulders.

Nevertheless, the England captain has been able to prove why he is the best striker on the planet. With 36 goals in the Bundesliga and eight goals in the Champions League, Kane has officially been awarded the European Golden Shoe by the European Sport Magazines, as confirmed by Bayern Munich.

This award has been presented to the best goalscorer in European football over the course of a campaign since 1997, and it is the first time Kane has received the trophy. This has seen the Bayern marksman beat the likes of Erling Haaland, Serhou Guirassy, and Kylian Mbappé to the award.

Nevertheless, next season, while another individual trophy will still be appreciated by the Englishman, Kane will be looking to lift silverware with Bayern. However, Kane could finally win his first trophy in the summer as England look to win EURO 2024.
