'He will be sacked': Ange Postecolgou told to ban Tottenham tactic in furious rant from former player
Former Tottenham midfielder Jamie O'Hara believes Ange Postecoglou could be sacked before the New Year unless things improve.
Pressure is mounting on the Spurs boss after the 1-0 defeat to Bournemouth on Thursday night.
This defeat leaves the north London team in tenth position in the standings and six points off the top four.
Postecoglou went to greet the Tottenham fans after the final whistle at the Vitality Stadium, but was greeted with boos from fans as fans grow tired of their inconsistent performances.
Asked by talkSPORT about the confrontation with the angry ones.
fans, Postecoglou said: “Yes, well, rightly so.”
“They're disappointed and I got some pretty direct feedback which is always healthy, man.”
Despite big wins over Aston Villa and Man City in recent times, Spurs suffered a surprise defeat to Ipswich and a draw at home to Fulham.
And O'Hara believes Postecoglou must find a way to consistently improve Tottenham's results or face dismissal.
Speaking to Jason Cundy on The Sports Bar, O'Hara said: “Daniel Levy will not stand for this. I'm telling you now, he will fire him.
“If he thinks he can continue like this throughout the season and continue defending like this, continue having set pieces like this, he will be fired.
“Daniel Levy is all about Champions League football, at least the Europa League. If Spurs finish tenth in the table after Christmas, they will sack Ange.
“I assure you, he will be fired. This cannot continue.
“I know everyone loves Ange, you know, in terms of attacking football. I can't, I'm getting bored of watching this.
“I'm getting bored of watching this.”
O'Hara continued: “I'll be honest, I'm getting tired of talking about Tottenham.
“I don't know what to say. You know, at the end of the day, I come here and I can talk about the Spurs all day and you cut things out and you break my head.
“I'm tired of being a Spurs fan. It's hard work. One minute you're up, then you're down, then you're up, then you're down.
“And you know what? It's just painful. It's painful to watch because you know there's a great performance there because we've seen it.”
“Aston Villa. Man City. You go away from home and then Bournemouth beat you.”
O'Hara was then asked about Tottenham's insistence on playing the ball around the defense and replied: “It should be banned.
“In football the direct ball from behind should be prohibited. It is never on. The Spurs do it in every game.
“It's painful to see each other.”
Tottenham will be next in action on Sunday afternoon when they host Chelsea in the Premier League.
