Heidenheim on the verge of completing two signings to help their fight for survival

Sky Germany reports that Heidenheim are on the verge of completing two transfers to boost their squad heading into the second half of the season.

The first is bringing Frans Krätzig in on loan. The Bayern Munich left-back had his loan at VfB Stuttgart terminated earlier in the week after struggling for game time at the MHP Arena. At Heidenheim, left-back is not the strongest position for them and due to the game time that fellow Bayern academy product Paul Wanner is receiving, it should be a good move for Krätzig.

The second move is bringing in Karlsruhe striker Budu Zivzivadze. The Georgian international is currently the top scorer in the 2.Bundesliga with 12 goals, however his contract at the Wildparkstadion expires in the summer. From a sporting point of view, this does not make sense for promotion-chasing Karlsruhe, but this is the last time they will be able to receive a transfer fee for Zivzivadze, so should be able to fund a replacement.

Heidenheim currently find themselves in 16th place in the Bundesliga as they have struggled to balance European commitments in the Conference League with Bundesliga football. In both competitions they had a strong start but faded off towards the end of the year.

On top of this they have also had to contest with the departures of Tim Kleindienst, Jan-Niklas Beste and Eren Dinkci in the summer, all three key players last season.
