Hoffenheim are monitoring Feyenoord’s Gernot Trauner

According to Florian Plettenberg, TSG Hoffenheim are monitoring Feyenoord centre-back Gernot Trauner.

As stated within the report, Die Kraichgauer consider the 32-year-old to offer a very interesting profile and are keen to get a deal over the line with the Dutch outfit.

With a 90.8% pass success rate so far this season, as per fbref, and with only two more Feyenoord players attempting more passes per 90 minutes, it is clear to see that Hoffenheim value the defender’s ability with the ball at his feet.

However, Christian Ilzer’s side are only looking to loan in the Austrian international until the end of the campaign, something that Feyenoord are currently unwilling to agree to.

As it stands, the Eredivisie side would only look to offload Trauner on a permanent deal as discussions over a move continue in order to find a resolution.

Should Die Kraichgauer finalise a move for the 32-year-old, then they would hope that he can help them avoid the drop this season, sitting just one point ahead of Heidenheim, who occupy the relegation play-off spot.
