According to Florian Plettenberg, Hoffenheim’s deal to sign Le Havre centre-back Étienne Youté Kinkoué is now off.
It had previously been reported that the Bundesliga side were set to sign Youté Kinkoué alongside Southampton defender Armel Bella-Kotchap.
However, it is understood that the deal is now off due to new demands made in the last 24 hours.
It is believed that the Ligue 1 side had decided to change the final details regarding the deal, and Hoffenheim elected to pull out prior to Youté Kinkoué’s scheduled medical.
Nevertheless, Die Kraichgauer will remain focused on ensuring that the former VfL Bochum defender Bella-Kotchap does arrive at the Rhein-Neckar-Arena this summer.
With Pellegrino Matarazzo’s side looking to compete on three fronts this season: the Europa League, the DFB-Pokal, and the Bundesliga, they will be hoping to add as much depth across their squad as possible, and with time left in the window, they may look to find a replacement for Youté Kinkoué.
