Newcastle Fans were delirious as they searched for a first Premier Legaue win since mid-September.

One of those was Given who, despite not being present at the clash, was very happy for Isak's crucial goal.

So much so that, while working as a pundit on the BBC's Football Focus programme, his wild celebrations saw him smash the table in front of him.

“I'm just going to let you in on a little secret,” host Kelly Somers said. “It's been a bit chaotic in the studio.

“Shay Given just broke part of the set. Why did you break part of the set?”

While holding what appeared to be a lamp, Given admitted: “I just kicked the table by mistake, so I apologize.”

Somers then asked, “Yes, but why did you do that?”

The former Newcastle goalkeeper, who made 354 league appearances for the Magpies, responded: “Why did I do that?

“Because Isak just scored against Arsenal. Brilliant cross from Anthony Gordon, header from Isak, top corner, 1-0 to the Toon.”

Despite a nervy second half, Newcastle were able to maintain their one-goal lead and claim a crucial victory over Arsenal.

It is their fourth victory in the Premier League this season and has ended a five-match winless streak.

Arsenal, on the other hand, have dropped more points at the top of the table after last weekend's 2-2 draw against Liverpool.

They are five points behind leaders Manchester City and that number will increase to eight if the defending champions beat Bournemouth.

The defeat is the second of the campaign and they seek to fight for the third consecutive title.
