'I don't care': Pep Guardiola dismisses Erling Haaland and Kevin De Bruyne theory after Everton win
Pep Guardiola has poured cold water on claims that Manchester City will secure another Premier League title with the return of Erling Haaland and Kevin De Bruyne..
After their respective injuries, both are once again starters for the Citizens, where they starred in the 2-0 victory against Everton on Saturday.
Haaland scored a double, with DeBruyne providing the pass for the Norwegian striker's second assist, the Belgian's fourth assist in as many games since recovering from his hamstring injury.
In fact, the former Chelsea midfielder has distributed 12 assists during Haaland in all competitions since the start of last season, the most for a top-flight player and for a specific teammate.
Their instinctive relationship has led fans and experts to endorse City to win a historic fourth Premier League title.
But Guardiola has dismissed the theory when speaking to talkSPORT's Sam Matterface, who asked him how terrifying it is for City's rivals that the two are shooting together again.
To which he said: “I don't care. I don't care how scary it is for them.
“Because I know that some of my colleagues are not afraid at all.”
The former Barcelona coach continued: “It's okay, we are stronger with them, but as I said before, we can play well.
“But these types of players help you win games.

“The first goal is not easy at all, with the right foot, the first contact, and that is why Erling, in the area, is the best.
Haaland had not scored since November before the Everton clash, and the 23-year-old admitted his relief to score again.
He told BBC Match of the Day: “Yes, it's a good feeling and even better to win.”
“We always work hard as a team, that's why we had a fantastic performance. It was a difficult match and a good victory.
“In many games, people will try to destroy our game, but we are a good team, so it is difficult to destroy our game.
“A good victory. We've had a good run, I think it's 10 in a row in all competitions. We're doing quite well. It's a good thing.”
